The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) at Tufts University invites applications for tenure-track faculty positions in Electrical and Computer Engineering to begin in September 2026/7. We are seeking candidates at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor.Over the last three years, the ECE department has recruited four new tenure-stream faculty and added two new teaching-track faculty. Halligan Hall, home to the departments labs, meeting spaces, and offices, has undergone a $26 million renovation, enabling synergistic co-location of research and teaching spaces. This search is part of a multi-year hiring plan with additional searches planned for the years to follow. These searches are looking for the best candidates broadly in Electrical and Computer Engineering with some example areas of interest listed below. This search is also part of a wider hiring campaign by the School of Engineering (SOE) to grow its research and educational capabilities in contemporary and emergent science and engineering domains. Overall, we are looking for the best candidates to add to our dynamic and growing department with a strong background in electrical or computer engineering, or a closely related field. We are looking for engaged and engaging researchers and teachers with a strong vision who can build and maintain a high-quality research program at Tufts and whose research will both connect with some of our current faculty and extend into new areas. Tufts SOE distinguishes itself by the interdisciplinary focus and integrative nature of its engineering education and research programs, within the intellectually rich environment of both a "Research I" university and a top-ranked undergraduate institution. The past five years have been a period of extraordinary growth for Tufts SOE, with undergraduate applications and enrollment, doctoral program size, and research productivity all reaching record highs last year. Tufts offers the best of a liberal arts college atmosphere, coupled with the intellectual and technological resources of a major research university. Home to seven graduate and professional schools across three campuses, Tufts University prides itself on its culture of cross-school partnerships. Located on Tufts' Medford/Somerville campus, only six miles from historic downtown Boston, SOE faculty members have extensive opportunities for academic and industrial collaboration, as well as participation in the rich intellectual life of the region.

The salary ranges for each rank are as follows: full Professor between $153,000 and $306,500; Associate Professor between $112,500 and $187,500; and Assistant Professor between $108,000 and $162,000.Tufts University is committed to providing competitive and equitable compensation that reflects each candidate?s experience, expertise, responsibilities, and performance.
